The Institute of Egyptian Art & Archaeology, founded in 1984, is a component of the Department of Art of The University of Memphis, in Memphis, Tennessee (USA). It is dedicated to the study of the art and culture of ancient Egypt through teaching, research, exhibition, and community education. As part of its teaching and research, the Institute conducts an epigraphic survey in the Great Hypostyle Hall of Karnak Temple in Luxor, Egypt.

The Centre for Computer-aided Egyptological Research (CCER, Faculty of Theology, and Utrecht University) has established an international reputation as a scientific institution since it was established in 1990. The CCER coordinates the activities of the Computer Working Group of the International Association of Egyptologists (IAE). The CCER publishes a series of books & software packages Publications Interuniversitaires de Recherché ةgyptologiques Informatisées (PIREI) and a series of CD-ROMs Egyptian Treasures in Europe. 14. Deir el Bahri




Hatshepsut is one of the more mysterious figures of ancient Egyptian history. Much is known of her reign as King, yet so many questions remain unanswered. Questions such as why late in the reign of her successor Tutmosis III, 40 years after her death, did he suddenly seem to embark on a campaign to erase her name and memory from the lists of Kings. , Hatshepsut has left a legacy of architectural and statuary elegance. Egyptian towns usually had their own local sacred animal. It was thought that some gods and goddesses represented themselves on earth in the form of a single representative of a specific species, and honoring that species of animal would please the god or goddess associated with the animal.
