Misr Radiology Center MRC was created back in the eighties by four members of university staff. It started as a small clinic managed by only 6 people. Today the MRC group includes two companies with a 20 million pounds total investment and around 125 persons working as a dedicated staff whose aim is to carry on insuring the best quality care to our patients together with the highest reliability.
MRC center provides the full range of radiological investigations from the simple plain X-ray to the state of the art CT and MRI imaging and to the cutting-edge of interventional procedures.
All investigations are performed by highly trained radiographers under the direct supervision of specialized professors and physicians.
Even though we have grown, our philosophy remains the same: to offer the highest quality and care to our patients.
Our services:
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging:
is now available in our center, a new powerful machine of 1.5 Tesla, with a very high gradient strength 30 mT/m, to perform all kinds of conventional and special new procedures with high resolution phased array synergy coils and readings by professional staff highly specialized in the field. Our unit is working 24 hours a day.
- Ultrasound:
All types of ultrasound examinations are been performed including interventional procedures; and this section is one of the strengths of the center.
- Spiral CT Scan
The center is equipped with a new machine, with up to date software, including all conventional and interventional related procedures as virtual endoscopes; 3D studies and CT angiography and others?
The examinations only take seconds and their interpretation is done by specialized highly trained staff.
- Conventional X-Ray
For all known X-ray procedures with and without contrast, if there is a chance the parent (mother) is pregnant, we ask her not attend in the exam room, even when wearing a lead apron. If there the patient is pregnant, she should inform us before the exam, so that the radiologist can contact her doctor, and ask about possibility of performing examination
- Auxiliary Services such as:
1. An aesthesia for CT or MR.
2. Cytopathology
3. Digital Subtraction Angiography

Research projects have a very thin scope.
Teams know limitations by lack of human ressources and funding. Partners are hard to identify.
Using techniques as microarrays comes to a "needle in de haystack" problem.
By lack of funding, you get too few data.
For all these reasons, research goes through decade-long cycles before valuable results are obtained for real-life application.

Al Borg Laboratory

Al Borg Laboratory was established in 1991 as a shareholding company. Currently the lab is the largest private laboratory in the Middle East.
Reagents:
All reagents are FDA approved and are purchased from reputable international companies such as Abbot, Roche, Bayer, Coulter, Stago... etc.
Computer:
The computer system installed is a client server based system which is working under Microsoft NT and Windows 2000 operating systems. Topographically, the system is composed of large LAN at Mohandesseen main branch and smaller LANs at the other branches connected in a WAN to the Mohandesseen server through ISDN & Frame Relay cloud network topologies.
