International Advertising Association

Established in 1968, the Egyptian chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) was the second of its kind in the Arab world. It was founded by Abdullah Abdel Bari, chairman of Al Ahram Newspaper and Advertising Agency and Loula Zaklama, chairperson of Rada Research and Public Relations Company. In 1997, due to Affifi’s death, the next Ahram president, Hassan Hamdy, took over by election and was assigned the presidency of the IAA chapter by a membership base of 68. The IAA chapter in Egypt operates closely under the umbrella of the Egyptian Advertising association. In Egypt, every association needs to be supervised and mentored by another Egyptian association and, in this case, it is the Egyptian Advertising association: El Gamia El Masria lel Ilan. Currently, the IAA Marketing Communication Diplomais the only product offered in Egypt. Other products and services that carry out the IAA global mission will soon be added.
The American University in Cairo has been authorized to grant The IAA Diploma to participants who complete the following requirements:
A-Successfully pass the following 8 courses in the marketing and communications fields with at least an overall grade point average of C:
1- Basis of Marketing
2- Marketing Research
3- Principles of Advertising
4- Consumer Behavior
5- Advertising/ strategies and management (cases)
6- Media Fundamentals
7- Integrated Marketing communication
8- Multi Media and Internet
B- successfully develops an integrated marketing communication Campaign.
C- Complete a minimum of 4 weeks internship/ apprenticeship Fees.
