Telecom Egypt Company was established in 1918 as the then sole company working in the telegraph and telephone field in Egypt. From this date onwards, a great progress has been achieved in the networks of communications. During the last two decades, the Company has assumed a grand plan with the aim of developing the telephony and data transfer networks.
Telecom Egypt is planning to multiply the number of telephone lines installed every year to reach one million lines so as to be able to meet the needs of the residential and commercial areas which will help in boosting investments. In addition to enlarging the numbers of telephone lines, the Company seeks to provide more services and features that will serve the clients and the business sector alike. For instance, there are the Intelligent Network services, the Digital Network Integrated Services, the caller ID service, and the services of the high-speed data transfer network, such as: FR/ATM.

Call Waiting:
Your Family members and friends complain your line is always busy. You lose some business because you have one line only and it is constantly busy. Telecom Egypt presents you this idea of having two callers at the same time. Avoid having a busy line, or needing to install a new one by subscribing to the “call waiting service”. This service gives you the advantage of transferring between the two calls as you want by pressing one of the following keys. Price: LE2 per month.
Follow me:
You are always on the move. May be you are a physician with many house visits; or you may be simply a housewife with many family obligations and need to be tracked wherever you go. Simply, do not lose contact with the ones who need you. Now, Telecom Egypt will keep you tracked by the ones you chose through the “Follow me” service now available to all. Price: LE 1.65 per month.
Wake Up:
This service makes your telephone works as if it were an alarm clock . It will wake you up , and remind you of your important appointments exactly at the time you registered. Price: LE 1.65 per month.
Conference:
Traffic is busy and you need to conduct a business meeting with an important client and one of your colleagues! You are out of traveling budget and you need to discuss important matters with your client in London in the presence of your lawyer in Alexandria! Telecom Egypt has the solution through the conference call service. In the comfort of your office and without exuberant traveling costs hold your conference on the phone.
Usage Procedures:-
1. Pick up the phone to get the dial tone .
2. Call the first subscriber and talk to him .
3. Press the hock once , you will get the dial tone .
4. Call the second subscriber and talk to him .
5. Press the hock twice, and now the three of you will be talking together at the same time. Service Price is 4 L.E. per month
Caller ID
Tired of getting calls from unwanted callers at inappropriate times of the day and night? Wondering who called you when you were out and didn’t leave a voice message? Subscribe in Telecom Egypt’s Caller ID service. This way you may select the calls to answer, call back at leisure, or do not return the call at all.
Service Price is 2.5 L.E. per month
Don’t Disturb:
Afternoon siestas are sacred to some people and so are social gatherings of friends to others. Who wants during either occasion or similar others to be distributed by callers? If it is not you, then you need to put a do not disturb sign outside your apartment....or in other words on your phone. Telecom Egypt now makes available this relaxing service for all subscribers to switch it on or off at their leisure. Just dial a number and “viola” even a Telecom Egypt operator cannot interrupt your sweet dreams. Service Price is 1.65 L.E. per month
Receiving Only:
This service is important if you need the phone line for receiving calls only , and preventing making any outgoing call . Service Price is 8.35 L.E. per month
ISDN Services:
Can you afford not to be connected in the information age? Can you afford to be connected at the regular low speed your ISP provides? Can you afford to pay all large sums of money for a leased line? Can you afford to miss an important call while you are online? Telecom Egypt spares you the difficult answers of those questions, which you will most certainly answer negatively. Through the ISDN service, whose low monthly subscription, you can overcome all those hurdles. So remain connected at high speed and don’t miss your voice call at the same per minute rate as a normal line by subscribing to Telecom Egypt’s ISDN service. This service gives you the opportunity of connecting 8 different devices on one line . Only 2 of them will work simultaneously . Either you use two channels with 64 K.b./sec. speed for each channel for operating two devices , or to use one channel with 128 K.b./sec. speed for operating one device. As well you can get 8 different numbers , one number for each device , and then you will be able to direct your incoming calls to every device separately . Voice Mail ( Code 0807X ) :
This service gives you the opportunity of storing all your incoming calls in your voice mail box, so you will never lose any call . Even if you do not have a telephone line , or if you do not want to tie you telephone line with the mail box , you can contract a mail box number . You can listen to your stored messages at any time , and from any telephone anywhere . Telecom Egypt ensures you the entire confidentiality of your calls .
How to leave a message for a service subscriber:
If the mail box belongs to a telephone line , when you call the telephone number the network may direct your call to the mail box ( according to the service subscriber programming ) .
If the mail box does not belong to a telephone line then your call will be directed to the mail box directly by following the following procedures .
1. Pick up the phone to get the dial tone .
2. Call (08072) if you call a mail box in Cairo , and (08073) if you call a mail box in Alexandria .
3. You will hear a welcome message , and you will be asked to enter the mail box number you want to call , and then to press
4. Now , you will get the message " the telephone subscriber is not available now , so please leave your message after the beep " .
How to retrieve your recorded messages:
1. Pick up the phone to get the dial tone .
2. Call (08072) if your mail box is in Cairo , and (08073) if your mail box is in Alexandria , and enter your mail box number , and then press then
3. You will hear the message " please enter your password " .
4. Enter your password , and listen to your recorded messages
Service Price is 5 LE months.
Call Barring
This service is meant to help householders and small businesses to avoid the hazard of having any unauthorized member to use the phone without permission .Telecom Egypt invites you to say goodbye to unjustifiable high bills and to economize on using the phone . This service gives you the opportunity of preventing any person to use your phone without your permission either in local , national , or international calls . Service Price is 2 L.E. per month
Pre Paid Card (Code 0804X):
Get this card to be able to make any local , national , or international call from a telephone line that does not have these features . Pay the fees of these calls from your credit in the card without charging the telephone you are calling from . Our Intelligent Network will diminish the price of every established call automatically until the credit becomes zero value
How to use the service
1. Scratch off the secret number on the card .
2. Pick up the phone to get the dial tone.
3. Call (08042) For Cairo cards , and (08043) for Alexandria cards .
4. You will get a message to chose the language you want ( English or Arabic ).
5. Then you will be asked to enter the secret number .
6. Then you will be asked to enter the PIN number .
7. Follow the voice instructions to perform your call .

20 L.E. Valid for 2 months from the date of the first use
30 L.E. Valid for 3 months from the date of the first use
30 L.E. Valid for 4 months from the date of the first use

Abbreviated Dialing
Using this service you will be able to call any phone number by using only one digit or two instead of using seven digits or more as usual . You can register up to 30 phone number.

Telecom Egypt provides Internet access service cooperating with ISPs in Egypt, without subscription, by calling free numbers starting with 07xxxxxx.
The call price is the same as the local call price which is 5 piaster for the first minute and 2 piaster for every another minute
2- Internet Service using the numbers starting with 0908xxxx
Telecom Egypt provides Internet access service cooperating with ISPs in Egypt, without subscription, by calling the premium rate numbers starting with 09080xxx and its prices as follows :-
- 10 P.T. / minute from 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.
- 7.5 P.T. / minute from 12.00 p.m. to 8 a.m.
