The Alexandria Journal of Agricultural Researsh is published three times a year ( April, August and December ) by the Faculty of Agriculture, Alexandria University, Egypt. The journal is open to all researches in agricultural sciences and related subjects. Subscription, manuscripts and all editorial correspondence should be addressed by registered mail to the Editor-in-Chief. The chairman is Prof. Dr.Ezzat Kadous, editor in chief is Prof. Dr.Mageed Kamara.
The Virtual Extension and Research Communication Network (VERCON) aims to harness the potential of the Internet and apply it to strengthening and enabling linkages among the research and extension components of the national agricultural knowledge and information system. The overall goal of VERCON is to improve, through strengthened research-extension linkages, the agricultural advisory services provided to Egyptian farmers and in particular to resource poor farmers in order to increase production in food and agriculture with the goal of raising farm incomes.
Agriculture-Led Export Businesses (ALEB) provides technical assistance and support to Egyptian food processing companies in order to enhance their global competitiveness and increase their exports. ALEB is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as a central component of the growth through globalization strategy to support Egypt’s private sector.
In 1996, several visionary horticultural exporters recognized the need for a forum to share information on technology for their horticultural operations, equipment, packaging and thus formed the Horticultural Export Improvement Association HEIA.
In very few years,HEIA serves producers, exporters, suppliers of horticultural products, as well as affiliated companies such as equipment and packaging manufacturers, and provides a forum where members benefit from representation.
