Shoura Group is the name of an Egyptian group of companies founded by
Eng. Hamed El Shiaty ( Chairman ) in the year 1969 as the agent for ICI (now Syngenta) and ever since, the business has grown to become one of the elite group of companies in Egypt having a total capital of 300 million Egyptian Pounds.

In the year 2000, the Shoura Group of companies has decided to expand its range of activities, so it developed the StarChem Group of companies. StarChem Trade moved into a somewhat familiar market which is the public health pesticides market. And since its establishment in the year 2000, it has taken the public health market by storm, realizing the highest shares of products in government tenders. It is also launching its own household, safe to use insecticide range, and establishing its own pest control service. A division of StarChem Trade is SIA Abrasives (of Switzerland) which ranks third as the Worlds’ leading supplier of innovative abrasive systems.
Because of our continuous search for new quests, we established another new company in the year 2000.
StarChem Industrial Chemicals, took up the challenge of establishing a new pesticide formulation, filling and packing facility at the 6th October City’s Industrial Zone, due to be complete and fully operational by the end of the year 2002. This new factory was established for the formulation manufacture & repacking of a wide range of solid and liquid products for use in the public health and agrochemical markets. It was built in compliance with international pesticide industry standards for safety, health & environmental protection. It will be able to produce more than 4,000 tons of herbicide, fungicide, pesticide and PGR finished products, in addition to repacked products.

Established in 1978 as an Egyptian private free zone company, Framchem operates under Law n° 8/1997, producing Agricultural and Performance chemicals in a factory in Abou Rawash, at kilometer 26 on the Cairo to Alexandria Desert Road. The Head Office is in Mohandessin. Management and staff total around 50.
CFPI Nufarm, the mother company, founder of Framchem, is a medium-sized French chemical company, established in 1928 and based in Gennevilliers, near Paris. In 1998 NUFARM became the major shareholder of CFPI. Nufarm limited is an Australian-based company with core capabilities in chemical synthesis and marketing.
Through a global network of manufacturing and formulation facilities, the company operates in two key areas of business activity:
•crop protection
•industrial , fine and performance chemical.
